12-19-2012: Alternative Spring Break Trip Sign Ups!
Registration is currently open for the Alternative Spring Break trip offered through the Activities, Involvement and Leadership Office. The Alternative Spring Break trip is an opportunity for students to explore the concepts of servant leadership and social justice — specifically around issues of poverty, homelessness and socioeconomic status.
Running March 17–23, the 2013 the Alternative Spring Break trip will be in Indianapolis, Indiana, for the fourth consecutive year. Students will engage in hands-on service projects and discuss issues of servant leadership and social justice with Indianapolis organization leaders. Alternative Spring Break partner sites have included the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership, Circle of Sisterhood Foundation, Gleaners Food Bank, Providence Cristo Rey High School, Rebuilding the Wall and Wheeler Mission Ministries.
Signup begins Thursday, November 15, at the front desk of the Student Organizations and Leadership Center, Davies Center 220. The Alternative Spring Break Trip is open to the first 20 students who sign up. The cost is $375, which includes food, travel, lodging and materials. Participants earn 30 hours of service-learning credit.

12-04-2012: Spring Leadership Seminar Registration Now Open!
The Leadership Seminar Series is designed to provide you with an opportunity to explore leadership with a small group of your peers and apply what you learn to your life experiences. Students will examine the history and evolution of leadership, will learn about personal strengths and preferences and how to work with others, will learn about important components of effective leadership, and will identify strategies for creating positive change.
The Seminar is an eight-week, non-credit opportunity available for up to 20 students. Seminar participants meet for 90 minutes each week throughout the duration of the program. There is no cost to participate, and all books and materials are provided for participants.
There will be two offerings for the Spring 2013 Leadership Seminar Series. Participants can choose between Thursdays from 4–5:30 p.m., beginning January 31 and concluding March 28 or Mondays from 2 - 3:30 p.m., beginning February 4 and concluding on April 1. Interested individuals must be available to meet at the selected time in order to participate. Registration is open through Friday, January 25, 2013.

10-30-2012: Eau Claire Student Nurses Association September Student Organization of the Month Award Recipient
Congratulations to the Eau Claire Student Nurses Association - recipient of the September, 2012 Student Organization of the Month Award. ECSNA raised over $500 during the month of September for the Foundation for Children with Cancer which provides Wisconsin families with financial assistance during a very difficult time in their lives. Many of the members of ECSNA take care of children with cancer and found the organization something that was close to their hearts. The Eau Claire Student Nurses Association organization is open to all UWEC nursing and pre-nursing students. Visit: http://www.uwec.edu/ecsna.
